Welcome to the Kalākora GalleryThe Kalākora Gallery is the premier photography destination in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. Featuring landscape imagery from the northwest icon known as "The Mountain," the gallery includes images from around the world and is home to The Kalākora Society and the Mount Rainier Institute of Photography. The gallery occupies the historic State Bank of Morton building in downtown Morton and features 1500 square feet of exhibition space. Adam Angel Photography and the Mount Rainier Institute of Photography occupy the upstairs office suite. If you find us there we will gladly take the time to share the exhibits. To ensure that we are available for a visit please contact us for an appointment.
While photographic works are the main focus of the gallery, other surprises dapple the exhibition space. From contemporary hardwood furniture locally harvested and crafted in our community to Tibetan Antiquities that you won't see anywhere else in the world including museums, this is a the must stop destination on your way to Mount Rainier. You can also find local guidebooks, maps, literature, and other well selected field supplies for the naturalist. |

"We are fortunate to live in such a wild and beautiful place. Right amongst three magnificent peaks, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Mt. Rainier, a lifetime of exploration is mere steps away. Living here is like living on the frontier, we are pioneers, and our only limit is limited imagination."
